Jaidev Singh Anand

A child survivor of Punjab’s partition of 1947, Jaidev Singh Anand was an active member of the young New York Sikh community when the shock of 1984 traveled across the world. He remembers the devastation and disbelief at the intensity and extend of the damage. He remembers false propaganda by the press, desensitizing the world. Today, most of all, he exudes chardi kalaa and encourages Sikhs to feel pride in their community’s resilient tradition.
