Jatinder Singh Hundal

Mr. Hundal was then 23 years old. He recalls how he had to depend on short wave radios such as the BBC, Radio Lahore, etc. to find out what’s happening in Amritsar. He describes how many international journalists were asked to leave Amritsar during the attack. He adds that due to the media blackout, most of the reports of the attacks were third person accounts, however, many international media outlets did try to present an unbiased report of the incidents taking place in Amritsar. He feels that other minorities in India were also taught a lesson by the Indian Government: whosoever organizes, resists, seeks freedom, they will be mounted same treatment as the Sikhs.
